Work you’ll do 

Seeking Clinical Informaticist / Terminologist to support the Deloitte Health Informatics Team with informatics and interoperability support services for multiple clients. Our ideal candidate is comfortable collaborating with clinical providers, applying medical terminology management and HL7 standards to develop effective clinical decision support solutions. Expertise in health informatics concepts, methods, and tools as well as clinical intelligence are required, as the professional will be advising in the design, development, and testing of health informatics solutions. These solutions must be interoperable across health systems to ensure a single standard of care amid an electronic health record migration, so the candidate possesses skills to promote data transparency and harmonization.

Qualifications: 

  • The Clinical Informaticist / Terminologist is responsible for/expected to provide expertise to various projects supporting multiple stakeholders. The professional in this role must communicate with clinical and technical representatives to elicit requirements for health informatics solution development and terminology standardization. Having secured the expectations of each task, the professional must develop and execute a project plan to deliver on those requirements. To fulfill the deliverables, the professional may be required to learn to navigate various electronic health management systems. Reporting to senior leadership and clients on task progress and risks will be a regular responsibility in this role.

Required Skillset:

  • Must have experience working with the VA (Veterans Health Association or VA Medical Center)
  • Minimum 3+ years in a clinical setting
  • Minimum 4+ years of medical terminology and knowledge management
  • Must be organized, detailed oriented, and able to manage design requirements in a fast-paced environment without oversight
  • Possesses experience working alongside clinical providers, skillful in eliciting requirements and developing project plans to meet those requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to self-organize, collaborate, and meet deadlines
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree

Desired Skillset:

  • Experience working with alternate data types (e.g. EHR, HIE) 
  • Clinical experience, especially in primary care and working with providers to implement performance improvement activities 
  • Familiarity or certification in performance improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma 
  • Experience reviewing of comparison, pattern tracking, and report utility analysis for primary care practices 
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement and providing subject matter expertise in primary care transformation efforts 
  • Clinical Reporting 
  • Performance Measurement
