Work you’ll do
- Play a pivotal role in the modernization of business-critical systems to improve IT health and enable business outcomes.
- Review legacy system documentation and code to understand business functions, data dependencies, and legacy data structures.
- Define modern application architectures that provide necessary business capabilities based on legacy system information and stakeholder conversations.
- Utilize experience with COBOL, preferably on the Unisys Mainframe, to support the client efforts.
- Effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including mainframe programmers, enterprise architects, and IT leadership, in both written and verbal formats.

The Application Modernization and Innovation offering is comprised of experienced professionals who help guide clients through their most complex technology challenges. This can include the delivery of large-scale software applications & integrated systems, the development of service-oriented architecture (SOA) & other integrations solutions, and the delivery of technology enablement to support CIO services transformation. Our Application Modernization and Innovation offering focuses on key client issues that impact the core business. We provide operational value, modernized mission solutions, and enhanced technology innovation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
- Ability to travel 10-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- 7 + years of combined experience in software documentation, architecture frameworks, architecture design patterns, and COBOL.
- 3 + years of experience in coding with Java and COBOL.
- 2 + years of experience in architectural roles designing and implementing system architectures.
Preferred:
- Active Public Trust clearance is preferred.
- Experience with COBOL on IBM Mainframe and Unisys Mainframe systems preferred.
- Professional certifications relating to Java, COBOL, and IBM mainframes are preferred.
