Chief marketing officers (CMOs) are under incredible pressure to perform as not only the creative minds, but as the growth drivers, customer champions, data experts, and change agents in their organizations. Yet this expanded role brings questions as marketing leaders grapple with how to deliver on their new demands. That’s where the CMO Program comes in.
We help build Deloitte’s reputation in marketing services and develop relationships with senior marketing leaders so we can be their trusted partner. As CMO Program Connections Lead you will play a key role in managing the CMO Program’s efforts to convene and engage with CMOs through industry conferences and events, support internal account teams build their client-relationships at premiere industry conferences and in CMO-focused forums, and design and implement programming that connects CMOs to Deloitte services and offerings. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of Deloitte teams and leaders who serve CMOs, as well as external ecosystem partners. You’ll stretch your creative and strategic thinking to deliver ideas from concept to reality.
The Role
The CMO Program’s goal is to create relationships and elevate Deloitte’s reputation in the market with CMOs. The ideal candidate is a high-performing Senior Consultant or Manager with a passion for design thinking, exceptional project management skills, excellent communicator, creative thinker, good facilitation/presentation skills, executive presence, and a genuine interest in creating and building relationships. A proactive and hard-working attitude and excitement for operating in a “start-up” environment will help the person excel in this role. Above all else, the ideal candidate can generate ideas that help solve problems through imagination, innovation, and storytelling.
Work you’ll do
- Support delivery and execution of the CMO Program’s partnerships and sponsorship with ecosystem partners (e.g., ANA, LIONS, The CMO Podcast with Jim Stengel, The CMO Survey, World 50)
- Assist in the design and implementation of activations and programming with ecosystem partners and at industry conferences and forums
- Support CMO Program strategic projects and sprints
- Identify and connect Connections team programming to additional CMO Program workstreams and vice versa
- Help develop programming that supports the evolving needs of the CMO and senior marketing executives
- Assist Deloitte leaders in presenting original content and insights at conferences and forums
- Support Deloitte account teams’ CMO and senior marketing executive relationships as needed
- Source and facilitate new partnerships internally and externally to help Deloitte support CMOs with their wide range of challenges
- Capture CMO Program-related data in Salesforce to inform the CMO Program agenda and strategy
- Own executive update decks and monthly reporting
- Schedule and/or maintain meeting invites across team as appropriate

Deloitte’s CMO Program, one of the role-based programs within the Executive Accelerators group, provides a portfolio of offerings to help CMOs navigate the complexities of their role, tackle their most complex challenges, and adapt to shifts in the market. Offerings address leadership and talent development, facilitate immersive and engaging client experiences, and provide content and insights. All the CMO Program’s offerings help prepare CMO’s for success, evolve decision making, and expand their thinking in a way that helps them embrace the wide world of marketing.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ Degree
- Creative thinker with foresight to implement innovative approaches
- Ability to strategically think at a 30,000 ft. level and then roll up the sleeves to drive tactical tasks forward with speed and agility
- Ability to connect like programs, strategies, people to one another
- Marketing and advertising experience preferred
- Strong presentation building and storytelling skills
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Executive presence, as well as strong written and oral presentation skills
- Self-starter, capable of working independently, proactively and operating effectively in ambiguity in a virtual environment
- Ability to synthesize group discussions into concise / concrete bullet points and help steer abstract dialogue into actionable themes
- Ability to manage risks, knowing what and when to escalate issues to the CMO Program managers
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $78,570 to $161,330.
