Work you’ll do

As an operations specialist, you will serve as a key contributor to the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational projects and activities that keep our business running smoothly. Specifically, you will support the Business Operations team within the Marketing organization in a variety of operational activities including managing special projects, budgets, tracking employee/contractor utilization and costs, maintaining time and expense codes, building and managing centralized shared services, and implementing process and procedure improvements.

You will have the desire to learn the inner workings of the marketing organization; including the business marketing teams and the in-house agency (GDA-Green Dot Agency), which will help inform and influence your work. You need to be comfortable pivoting your focus and scope as priorities change across the organization.

You will liaise with professionals across the Marketing organization as well as other enabling departments such as Finance, Accounting, Technology, Risk, and Procurement to perform activities such as:

  • Translating evolving business needs, feedback, and priorities into opportunities for change
  • Supporting budget activities including implementing integrity controls, reconciling expenses, advising on cost reduction and investment opportunities, tracking cost reallocations, and working with Finance on fiscal year close and planning.
  • Maintaining and update process documentation and operational best practices
  • Propose process enhancements to streamline cross business operations, implement, and train community 
  • Overseeing centralized operational tools, including optimizing existing tools, developing new tools, and training users.
  • Delivering ad hoc and regular cadence reporting on budget, capacity, utilization, and forecasts
  • Act as Workfront (marketing resource and workflow management system) SME and user liaison including advising on process, tool navigation, and optimization ideas.
  • Collaborating with Strategic Resource Management team on talent projects, reporting, and processes
  • Counseling colleagues on process to meet compliance requirements
  • Acting as data advisor for consumers of various operational reports and dashboards
  • Forming a discipline around time and expense code and provide colleagues with related information.

  • Strong data manipulation and analytics skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant business operations, financial, project management experience
  • Marketing organization experience a plus but not required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Travel up to 10% (While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
