Position Summary

Blockchain Solution Engineer

Do you have a passion for innovation and emerging technologies along with a firm foundation in the core principles of technology and banking? Would you like to be a part of the early-stage development of a new firm Blockchain offering for banking and capital markets? We are currently seeking a Manager/Senior Consultants who will work with Deloitte Consulting’s offering portfolios and banking and capital markets sector to accelerate and scale the next generation of blockchain and digital assets-driven Consulting offerings.  

As a Blockchain Offering Solution Engineer you will solution strategic business opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantages. You will help shape Deloitte’s blockchain and digital asset ecosystem, capabilities, and solutions for blockchain technologies across banking and capital markets clients we serve.

Work you’ll do

Individuals in this role would be responsible for a variety of activities including:

  • Design, implement and deploy end-to-end solutions for clients using private and public blockchains.
  • Lead discovery for use cases that can further customer’s understanding of blockchain and specific blockchain implementations.
  • Leverage the usage of cloud computing, micro-services and integration standards in the blockchain implementation.
  • Developing POCs and pilot projects that will evaluate a specific technology’s applicability, performance, and scalability.
  • Help to develop an overall blockchain ecosystem engagement strategy.
  • Provide technical guidance for team members (technical leader).
  • Engineer end-to-end solutions for our clients using blockchain
  • Act as a product/solution owner between clients, engineering teams and leadership

Emerging Tech Incubation is an organization with Deloitte Consulting that manages a portfolio of emerging technology investments spanning multiple time horizons. Our mission is to accelerate the next generation of technology-driven Consulting offerings by establishing early market leader positioning, partnering with alliances, start-ups and academia, building practice capabilities and assets, and selling flagship client engagements.

The aspiration of the Deloitte Blockchain practice, within Emerging Tech Incubation, is to design, build, and operate high quality, right-fit solutions based on distributed ledger technology that replatforms and transforms the way financial services works.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years technology consulting experience
  • Industry and / or Offering SME with deep understanding of blockchain’s business case / models
  • Experience in building smart contract solutions, with languages such as Solidity and Go and solutions such as OpenZepplin
  • Experience with layer 2 protocols
  • Understanding of credentialing blockchain participants (SSO, certification, etc.)
  • Understanding of how to layer blockchain network with cloud application and client UI through API streams
  • Understanding of standardization of JSON/expected API information from participants
  • Understanding of Data Architectures (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Understanding of microservices design
  • Consensus mechanism functional and technical knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the blockchain vendor landscape
  • Expertise with various blockchain platforms, specifically nuances between permissioned vs. public chains
  • Applied Cryptography
  • Comfortable working in a virtual environment and managing a virtual team
  • Excellent executive communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Flexibility/adaptability – comfortable working with ambiguity and continually evolving priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow new business relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Demonstrates strong value for diversity and ability to team and collaborate effectively
  • Willingness to travel as required

  • Excellent focus on details and producing high quality work products, particularly in PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Substantial experience developing and delivering executive level presentations
