Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks a Audit & Assurance Senior Manager in Detroit, MI.

Work You’ll Do

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple engagements. Involved with the management of legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during audit engagements. Responsible for the supervision and management of services to our clients, including preparation of audit strategy and business plans, setting budgets, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads, and financial reporting. Develop and motivate all engagement staff and provide them with counseling and career guidance. Assist with overall project management for audit engagements including preparation of project proposals for engagements and ensure that accounting and auditing services are delivered per client requirements and industry standards. Perform audits of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). Manage engagement budget, staffing, and scheduling issues as well as the timely and quality delivery of services. Will commute within the Detroit, MI area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Six years of auditing experience for large accelerated filers in the automotive or financial services industry.
  • Experience must include six years of:
    • Performing audits utilizing auditing techniques including risk assessment, audit scoping, devising audit approach, controls testing, and substantive audit testing including sampling techniques;
    • Auditing in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards, US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), AICPA, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards to produce high-quality audits;
    • Utilizing accounting software, journal entries, and automated tools to research accounting issues; and
    • Performing audits with assigned administrators in accordance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience must include four years of:
    • Preparing audit strategy and business plans;
    • Researching complex accounting and auditing issues related to audit engagements;
    • Interfacing directly with client management executives; and
    • Managing, training, and mentoring global teams of junior staff members.
  • Must possess: U.S. CPA license or passage of all four parts of U.S. CPA examination.
  • Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
