Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks an Audit & Assurance Analytics Specialist Manager in Chicago, IL.
Work You’ll Do
Redefine audit by infusing cutting-edge technologies, data analytics and visualizations, and transformative audit delivery models to deliver a more dynamic picture to clients. Manage teams that perform audit analytics and data visualization using data mining, pattern matching, and predictive modeling tools and technologies, including Tableau, SAS, R, ACL, SQL, Power BI, Python, and Visual Basic, and Deloitte technologies, including Cortex and DNAV, to produce analysis throughout the audit process. Consolidate inferences to present recommendations to the audit team(s) to enable critical decision making. Lead the design of the approach to audit analytics. Manage the review/completion of team deliverables to help ensure data integrity and project alignment. Collaborate with Industry Professional Practice Directors (IPPDs), Deloitte’s National Office, individual audit engagement teams, client personnel, and firm leadership to transform the delivery of audit services to clients. Leverage advanced technology and leading practices specific to audit analytics and data visualization to drive strategic benefits in the areas of audit quality, efficiency, and value. Manage teams that utilize the benefits of data warehousing, data architecture, table structure, fact and dimension tables, data modeling, reporting process metadata, and ETL processes to extract and transform data scattered across multiple sources. Manage teams that search and mine large data sets to discover meaningful patterns, trends, and relationships to identify success measures and areas for further analysis while utilizing technologies, including Tableau, SAS, R, ACL, SQL, Power BI, Python, and Visual Basic, and Deloitte technologies, including Cortex and DNAV. Develop and test algorithms that provide more efficient and extensive population coverage. Design and support data visualization dashboards to accompany financial results, findings, and published reports. Quickly adopt emerging technological trends (such as predictive analytics, cognitive analytics, or machine learning) to develop creative solutions to pressing audit client issues. Perform role of counselor and coach. Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities. Share practice management and administration responsibilities including the overall management of project teams and development of staff. Review deliverables prepared by project team members, mentoring, and providing guidance to them by playing a role of subject matter expert in audit analytics and data visualization. Improve internal processes, and promote knowledge sharing within the team, by contributing to the audit analytics community of practice, blogs, and other forms of market eminence.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Five years of experience wrangling, testing, and evaluating demographic and investments data pertaining to the audit of employee benefit plans.
- Experience must include five years of:
- Interpreting laws, regulations, and provisions governing employee benefit plans, including ERISA, IRC, DOL regulations, and Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs);
- Applying analytical tools and methodologies to test for accuracy, completeness, valuation, and compliance of benefit plan data with relevant laws, regulations, and provisions;
- Designing, developing, and executing training programs for new specialists;
- Developing scripts and queries utilizing SQL, SAS, R, Python, and ACL, and executing programs to process, validate, and transform multiple and varied data sets;
- Designing, developing, and testing algorithms that provide more efficient and extensive population coverage, and designing data visualization dashboards to analyze published financial reports using Tableau and Power BI;
- Developing queries and test scripts aimed at identifying transactional and operational patterns and emerging risks; and
- Interpreting data and communicating results to clients in presentations and reports, both in-person and virtually.
- In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Master's degree and three years of experience as stated above.
- Experience must include two years of:
- Designing, developing, and managing team workflow processes, data governance practices, and communications with auditors and clients;
- Performing project management, including staffing, budgeting, timelines, deliverables, and closing out of projects; and
- Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members and providing performance feedback and guidance.
