CBO- Core Technology Operations – Application Lifecycle Management – Senior Manager/SpL

At Deloitte Consulting LLP, our Core Technology Operations (CTO) specialists provide end-to-end services to help our client organizations manage their portfolio of IT applications, scale and optimize critical business operations, drive speed to outcome and deliver business transformation. We offer a complete range of industry-leading services, providing flexible, recurring resource capacity for client initiatives, projects, tasks, and enhancements which includes quality engineering, systems support, shared services, product engineering, and infrastructure. Our services provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and optimization for IT/engineering applications and products around application development, process optimization and automation to help drive speed to outcome, deliver business transformation, and build resilience in an uncertain future.

As a Senior Manager/SpL at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for supporting large complex IT systems for our clients - these applications are often high-volume mission critical systems and would provide you an exposure to a broad range of technologies across all Cloud and on prem environments. You will work with global functional and technical teams on engagements that leverage a high degree of automation, the latest technologies and cut across support and development work. You will need to understand functional requirements and should be able to support specific technologies, develop technical designs, develop, customize, and test completing the lifecycle from design to ongoing support.

Work You'll Do

As a Senior Manager/Specialist Leader you will lead and support various internal applications and infrastructure and the complex programs surrounding these applications including internal consultants, near-shore, off-shore technologists and multiple vendor relationships.  You will work across geographies with accountability for the success, effectiveness and delivery of multiple work streams, managing a large, dispersed technology team.  You will lead planning and budgeting, define deliverable structures and content, facilitate the buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels, directing the on-time quality delivery of work, managing technology economics and risk. You'll help organize and lead pursuit teams, participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process, contribute to pricing strategies, develop practical solutions and methodologies, develop "thoughtware" and "point of view" documents, participate in public speaking events and other activities.  You'll perform the role of counselor and coach for other IT staff members and provide input and guidance into the future staffing needs.  You'll provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.

The Team

Core Technology Operations practitioners work on the design, delivery and support of a variety of solutions that help our clients meet business objectives. These solutions range from large scale ground-up custom developed applications, to Cloud-based development and integration services as well as customizing industry sector-focused packages. As a member of this team, you would get opportunities to work on all adjacent area technologies such as user interface/user experience development, integration services, business rules engine solutions, or Cloud-based services.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in application support including “lights on” support services, development and customization, leading cross-border teams of significant scope and scale;
  • 10+ years of relevant consulting experience, managing and delivering technology-related systems across borders;
  • 10+ years of experience leading teams to develop, design and support technical solutions in Java, Microsoft technologies, both on Cloud and .Net;
  • 10+ years experience leading large-scale global technology teams in a delivery lead capacity;
  • 5+ years experience in leading engagements, budgeting, working on RFPs, defining deliverables, proposing solutions and selling work, working with top decision makers in the IT space;
  • A solid understanding of the ITIL framework, certification is strongly preferred;
  • Hands-on development skills in at least one of the following: 1) Java; 2) .Net; 3) Mainframe.  
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of software engineering with the ability to successfully articulate technology concepts to both a business and a technology audience;
  • Experience working on RFPs and business development activities related to securing work on IT consulting projects.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor environment and with third parties.  Experience managing vendor relations is strongly preferred;
  • Extensive team leadership experience which should include managing people, projects, clients and financials.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.


Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, engineering or a related field;

• Ability to quickly learn and deliver on analogous technologies not previously worked on;

* PMP certification is strongly preferred.

Wages and Salary

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,725 to $292,875.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, the individual, and organizational performance.
