Position Summary

Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our client’s end to end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.

Cloud Engineering supports our clients as they improve agility and resilience, and identifies opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation by enabling Cloud. We accelerate our clients towards a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators.

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and troubleshoot APIs and policies using APIGEE
  • Install, configure, and test Apigee installations and Upgrades
  • Implement requirements of the API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications etc. using Apigee
  • Design and develop API platform to connect to various disparate backend systems for seamless data exchange
  • Build and support the APIs through the entire lifecycle
  • Perform regular health checks and monitor performance of the Apigee environment
  • Write Open API spec and smart docs for on boarding APIs to developer portal
  • Convert web services from SOAP to REST or vice-versa, using Apigee API management platform
  • Create custom policies in Java, JavaScript and NodeJS in Apigee or any other APIM
  • Build and create shared flows for Error Handling, Security and other scenarios
  • Work with the product vendor on issue resolution and enhancements
  • Adapt to existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
  • Understand the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
  • Use considerable judgment to define solution and seeks guidance on complex problems

Required

  • 4+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience
  • Experience with APIGEE edge and API management
  • Strong knowledge of Apigee component architecture and implementation configurations
  • Experience with design and development of REST API platform using APIGEE/APIM, converting web services from SOAP to REST or vice-versa
  • Strong expertise in XML, SOAP, and JSON message formats and transformation
  • Knowledge of JavaScript for writing APIGEE mashup APIs
  • Hands-on experience on Apigee Development Portal, Portal customization, and integration with Apigee Edge using, Drupal, NodeJS, JavaScript preferred
  • Experience in API layer like security, custom analytics, throttling, caching, logging, monetization, request and response modifications using APIGEE
  • Understanding of TLS, mutual-authentication, certificates, keystore and trust store
  • Knowledge of health checks and monitoring procedures for Apigee components & APIs
  • Experience with high availability, load balancing and failover configurations with Apigee
  • Good Knowledge of third-party integrations like LDAP, SiteMinder, Ping Fed IDP, Okta and Splunk a
  • Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience in generating custom API Analytical reports
  • Experience with API security norms and conversant in common Internet technologies and protocols viz HTTPs, SSL, OAuth, REST, JSON, XML, etc.
  • Travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

  • Apigee Certified (API Engineer Certification)
  • Experience in Drupal portal with ability to extend functionality using Drupal modules
