Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP seeks a Advisory Senior Consultant in New York, NY.

Work You’ll Do

Assist clients with managing business controversy and conflict, executing deals, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Help clients to navigate through the complexities of corporate "lifecycle" events and transactions; assist companies in identifying, measuring and articulating the value of their assets by providing independent and well-supported valuations; quantify and present valuation analyses and conclusions in concert with prevailing accounting, tax, and regulatory codes, for transaction, financing, litigation, bankruptcy, reorganization, strategic planning, and compliance purposes. Value business entities, intellectual property, intangible assets, and complex and distressed securities; assist clients in solving complex business and transaction issues, including analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions; perform financial reporting valuation for business combinations, inclusive of enterprise values, intangible assets; help clients to properly quantify and articulate values for financial reporting taxation, transaction, financing, litigation, and strategic management purposes; perform valuation for tax purposes, including federal, state, local, international, and personal tax, as well as services related to a client’s allocation of purchase price for tax purposes only; provide financial modeling assistance and other consultative valuation services, including opinions, in support of business plan development, strategic investment decisions or other financial objectives; perform valuation for financial reporting purposes not elsewhere classified, including ASC718, derivative securities and debt instruments, ESOs, international fair value reviews, and business enterprise and equity valuations.



  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Mathematical Finance, Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting, Quantitative Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of business and intangible asset valuation consulting experience.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Developing, engineering, and automating complex security valuation analysis utilizing mathematical modeling and programming;
    • Designing and developing path-dependent mathematical modeling, including Monte Carlo simulation framework, to solve complex valuation problems;
    • Designing and developing lattice-based mathematical models to solve complex valuation problems;
    • Utilizing Black-Scholes-Merton option pricing model and Monte Carlo simulation model to perform valuations of performance-based employee stock options and warrants in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including FASB ASC 718;
    • Researching, designing, and building advanced quantitative models and tools to solve complex valuation problems;
    • Researching industries and sectors to perform valuations of enterprises and security tranches;
    • Developing quantitative models for fixed income valuation analysis using Bloomberg, Capital IQ and SNL Financial and researching market risk and credit risk;
    • Validating market data inputs utilizing Capital IQ and Bloomberg;
    • Building and maintaining VBA code to support financial modeling; and
  • Preparing reports both written and oral based upon built models.
