Work You’ll Do

Compile and analyze data. Understand clients business environment and basic risk management approaches. Demonstrate general knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, products, and service lines. Participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand broader impact of current decisions. Build and nurture strong client relationships. Apply technical accounting standards, financial reporting, valuation techniques and methodologies for derivatives, and quantitative risk assessment. Assist clients with accounting and reporting aspects of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity, and debt. Assist clients in complying with sec financial reporting requirements, including 10Ks and 10Qs, as well as other regulatory reporting requirements. Support clients in financial closure processes and consolidation/accounting reporting process by implementing new and complex accounting requirements and managing related operational issues. Analyze and decompose business processes and design strategy to automate processes by delivering relevant specialized digital solutions, including robotic process automation, cognitive intelligence, enterprise resource planning, and financial solutions. Will commute within the New York, New York area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience interpreting and applying accounting standards.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Advising clients on compliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements by analyzing financials to investigate unusual transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs and spin-offs to minimize financial and operational risks;
    • Performing financial statement analysis, including identifying and calculating balance sheet and P&L/E&P adjustments, unrealized foreign exchange losses/gains, intercompany interest, provisional concessional fees, reserves, and prepaid expenses;
    • Assisting with project management by organizing control logs and effectively communicating with internal engagement members and external client contacts;
    • Utilizing MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and advanced tools, including Pivot Tables, macros, and complex formulas;
    • Advising clients on implications of new U.S. accounting standards and regulations, and performing technical research on complex accounting issues; and
    • Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  •  Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
