Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks an Advisory Senior Consultant in San Jose, CA.

Work You’ll Do

Demonstrate knowledge of external reporting and financial processes, and translate ERP technology functionality into financial process improvements. Collaborate with finance executives and stakeholders to identify business requirements and current state deficiencies within financial processes and deliver end-to-end solutions supported via ERP enablement. Liaise between finance executives, solution architects, and technical/IT practitioners to ensure finance priorities are aligned and understood. Hold meetings with business counterparts and stakeholders to identify and evaluate complex business processes and deliver innovative solutions driven by technology enablement. Design and develop finance data models to support ERP and other finance requirements (driver and cost pool definition / rationalization, allocation methodology rationalization). Document finance requirements, current state and future state processes, alignment to standard functionality (e.g., fit/gap, automated vs manual processes), and impacts to functional finance business teams. Develop testing plans and support clients through the testing cycle, including test script creation, root cause analysis, and defect resolution. Ensure implementation of post-production support models and processes. Mentor, teach, and develop junior team members on the use of technology-based tools and methodologies to evaluate test results. Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistical Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience as an Advisory Senior Consultant or a related occupation requiring experience performing data analytics to improve financial processes, including financial modeling and visualization.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
  • Conducting working sessions to design, develop, and present software demos using ETL language/tools, including SQL, Alteryx, and Qlik;
  • Collaborating with global teams to build and analyze financial reports utilizing Data Visualization platforms;
  • Assisting clients with implementation of SAP PaPM (Profitability Analysis and Performance Management) module to support external reporting and redesigning the overall legacy process;
  • Analyzing monthly transactional data utilizing Excel and Alteryx to translate and simplify client’s legacy operating segment allocation rules;
  • Developing end-to-end process flows and process documentation utilizing Visio to document client’s cost and revenue allocation process;
  • Coordinating with offshore team members to develop multiple automation tools utilizing MS Access, Excel Macros, and Alteryx to help client increase efficiency and traceability in maintaining and validating PaPM tables;
  • Utilizing SAP PaPM to solve implementation defects and tracking progress using HP ALM;
  • Liaising between financial reporting and technical design teams to implement SAP PaPM module; and
  • Mentoring and coaching junior analysts and promoting best practices through knowledge transfer sessions and practical training exercises.
  • Position requires approximately 30% domestic travel.

Salary: $90,522.00 - $145,488.00/year
