Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks an Advisory Senior Consultant in New York, NY.

Work You’ll Do

Work with the acquiring company and the target company’s upper management to design financial due diligence procedures, conduct field due diligence engagements, and perform complex accounting and due diligence procedures of balance sheets and income statements. Participate in the review and analysis of target company’s annual reports and interact with target and client upper management to discuss field deal issues. Perform transaction financial due diligence by analyzing quality of earnings, quality of assets, and debt-like exposures of acquisition target; research and analyze acquisition target industries and market data. Perform accounting and due diligence functions on field engagements for major corporate and private equity clients, and develop accounting worksheets. Participate in pre-due diligence planning for due diligence engagements, review target company’s accounting and operating procedures and systems of internal control and conduct due diligence procedures which are sufficient in scope to support deal decisions made by clients. Participate in the preparation of due diligence reports, performing analytical reviews of financial documents and preparing the documentation supporting the due diligence findings. Perform accounting research to solve issues that arise during the course of due diligence engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of accounting and auditing experience.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Performing analysis of financial statements under GAAP and audits under PCAOB and AICPA standards;
    • Communicating directly with senior members of the team and clients to discuss planning, procedures, findings, and recommendations;
    • Preparing written reports on investment valuations and accounting treatments conducted by clients, and preparing memos and workpapers for procedures performed and findings on assets, liabilities, and partners’ equity;
    • Performing technical accounting, cash flow analysis, balance sheet analysis, income statement analysis, and carried interest analysis;
    • Utilizing software, including engagement management and conflict check software, to perform audits;
    • Mentoring, coaching, and training junior team members; and
    • Working with specialists in complex accounting areas, including valuation, information technology, and tax specialists.
  • Position requires approximately 20% travel.
