The Advisory PPMD Talent Matters team collaborates with business leaders to grow, develop, assess, and guide the career paths of our Partners, Principals and Managing Directors (“PPMDs”) and provides strategic direction in an objective, unbiased manner for talent-related matters.

More about the Advisory PPMD Talent Matters Enabling Senior Manager Role:

The Enabling Senior Manager is responsible for driving and supporting the execution of the Deloitte Advisory PPMD Talent Matters strategy and associated operational priorities. As part of the Advisory PPMD organization, the Enabling Senior Manager is responsible for developing work products that advance the realization of people-related opportunities and solve complex people-related challenges. The Enabling Senior Manager will lead as well as support projects and processes that span PPMD talent and inclusion strategy, process, operations, and strategic and/or technology transformation, change management, strategic communications, and project management. A high degree of flexibility and ability to handle ambiguity, changing priorities, and confidential information will be required. The processes include:

  • New Partner admissions and Managing Director promotions
  • Partner peering and Managing Director leveling
  • Performance management
  • Partner unit allocation
  • Managing Director compensation
  • Partner and Managing Director reporting and tracking

Position Reports to: Advisory PPMD Matters Talent Leader

Key responsibilities include:

  • New Partner admissions and Managing Director promotions
    • Lead Advisory’s promotion and admissions process for our next generation of leaders and partner with the offering portfolio and industry leaders and process champions to help plan and deliver a seamless experience
    • Partner with Firm PPMD Talent Matters to ensure that Advisory’s admissions process is aligned to their strategy and adheres to their timeline
    • Partner with L&D and Consulting Talent to design and oversee the SM career path / development experience, ensuring it aligns with the goals of Partner Matters
  • Partner peering and Managing Director leveling
    • Lead Advisory’s peering committee and PG E review processes
    • Develop, plan and execute the annual Advisory’s peering process for our PPMDs and partner with the offering portfolio and industry leaders and to help plan and deliver a seamless experience
    • Partner with Firm PPMD Talent Matters to ensure that Advisory’s peering process is aligned to their strategy and adheres to their timeline
    • Manage compensation (merit/unit adjustments) for the PPMDs going through the peering process
  • Performance management
    • Lead Advisory’s performance management processes which include annual goals process, mid year talent review and year end performance evaluation processes
    • Develop, plan and execute the annual Advisory’s performance management process for our PPMDs and partner with the offering portfolio and industry leaders and to help plan and deliver a seamless experience
    • Partner with Firm PPMD Talent Matters to ensure that Advisory’s peering process is aligned to their strategy and adheres to their timeline
  • Partner unit allocation
    • Lead Advisory’s annual unit allocation processes
    • Develop the annual Advisory’s annual unit allocation processes for our Partner and Principals and partner with the offering portfolio and industry leaders and to help plan and deliver a seamless experience
    • Partner with Firm PPMD Talent Matters to ensure that Advisory’s annual unit allocation processes is aligned to their strategy and adheres to their timeline
  • Managing Director compensation
    • Lead Advisory’s annual Managing Director merit and bonus compensation processes
    • Develop, plan and execute Advisory’s annual Managing Director merit and bonus compensation processes and partner with the offering portfolio and industry leaders to deliver a seamless experience
    • Partner with Firm PPMD Talent Matters to ensure that Advisory’s annual Managing Director merit and bonus compensation processes processes is aligned to their strategy and adheres to their timeline
  • Administrative and Reporting
    • Manage, analyze, and report PPMD headcount data on a period and ad hoc basis
    • Lead the strategy and execution of strategic priorities/projects including in conjunction with Firm PPMD Talent Mattes
    • Prepare executive level deliverables for the Advisory Executive Committee and Management Committee
    • Lead the preparation of meeting agendas and materials for various leadership meetings
    • Lead and coach team members and/or rotational support resources on specific tasks
    • Lead and oversee the production of quality deliverables in a timely manner
    • Support the efforts of other Advisory PPMD Matters workstreams as needed, including managing investigations, counteroffers, annual planning, etc.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Prior work experience in a Professional Services firm a plus
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Professional, service minded attitude and executive demeanor; responsive
  • Strong at multi-tasking and ability to prioritize and follow through
  • Excellent computer skills — MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong project management, organization, coordination, analytical and critical/strategic-thinking skills, and a willingness to tackle both strategic priorities and operational processes
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to emerging priorities and self-managing in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Deliverable development including requirements gathering, analysis, storyboarding; excellent oral and written communication skills, including executive level presentation skills
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels (e.g., peers, leadership
  • Willingness to foster innovation with a creative mindset
  • Proactive and creative thinker who is willing to contribute ideas
  • Ability to exercise good judgment/decision making when necessary
  • Ability to multitask effectively while working in a deadline oriented environment
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have flexibility to work overtime during peak times (April – August is busiest time)
  • Travel up to 20% (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Preferred understanding of strategy-oriented frameworks including the strategic choice cascade, persona development, design thinking, etc. and comfort with training team members on these framework
  • Ability to lead a team, promote an inclusive environment, focus on the development of team members
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence outcomes and elevate issues to appropriate levels
  • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and influencing skills needed to counsel and work effectively with senior leaders and executives
  • Proven ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Understanding of the Deloitte culture and operating model preferred
