Deloitte & Touche LLP seeks a Advisory Manager in Chicago, IL.

 

Work You’ll Do

Play substantive role in engagement planning, economics, and billing. Produce quality internal and external communications and deliverables, including technical content of reports and proposals. Understand clients’ business environment and basic risk management approaches. Deliver services meeting engagement leader specifications. Participate in “add-on” sales to clients. Participate in proposal development efforts. Evaluate, counsel, mentor, and provide feedback on performance of subordinates and assist with recruitment and retention of professionals. Draft accounting policies, white papers and position papers. Perform technical accounting analysis in accordance with ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), and ASC 326 (Financial Instruments, Credit Losses) and create accounting positions. Participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand broader impact of current decisions. Build and nurture strong client relationships. Conduct quality reviews of and provide feedback on the technical work product of junior resources. Manage off shore resources to meet project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Five years of experience analyzing and applying accounting guidelines and standards to support preparation of financial statements and related disclosures for 10K and 10Q reporting.
  • Experience must include five years of:
    • Reviewing financial statements for compliance with accounting standards under GAAP or IFRS;
    • Utilizing general ledgers, reconciliations, accounting, and reporting for financial control groups;
    • Modeling fact patterns to determine impact of new financial statements; and
    • Utilizing Microsoft Excel including macros, Vlookups, pivot tables and VBA.
  • Experience must include two years of:
    • Operationalizing IFRS16 and ASC842 standards and implementing, developing, and designing processes and controls for new standards, including the TRIRIGA system;
    • Providing auditing and advisory services involving technical controls in the consumer and industrial products industry;
    • Interfacing directly with client contacts to communicate issues and results; and
    • Leading teams through a complete engagement lifecycle and mentoring and training team members.
  • Position requires 80% travel.
