Position Summary

FSI Insurance Senior Consultant

Our practitioners have the opportunity to engage a diverse and challenging portfolio of projects which include the design and implementation of business strategies and product offerings, operating models or structural change management, technology and process transformations, compliance and regulatory assessments, and compliance readiness initiatives. The industry knowledge and experience which candidates bring will be critical to the success of our clients.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced regulatory compliance Insurance professional to join our elite team. This role will be responsible for providing expert advice and analysis on all aspects of our insurance program (Life/Annuity and/or P&C/Specialty) as well as broker-dealer functions, with a particular focus on compliance and regulatory issues. 

As a Senior Consultant you will have opportunities to:

  • Analyze and interpret insurance compliance programs.
  • Assess company policies to determine discrepancies with current insurance regulations.
  • Prepare and conduct compliance risk assessments in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate company practices and employee behaviors to determine insurance compliance risks.
  • Propose recommendations to align with regulatory requirements, expectations, and industry practices and to reduce or eliminate insurance compliance risks.
  • Assist clients develop/enhance Compliance Policies and Procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with client stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, business operations, field associates, internal audit, and external auditors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Actuarial or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in insurance, broker-dealer, and/or investment advisor compliance.  Compliance inspection or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of insurance and/or FINRA/SEC regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of current developments in insurance and broker-dealer regulatory changes.
  • Possess strong investigation and research skills to stay abreast of current developments in insurance and broker-dealer regulatory changes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or any time in the future

This compensation range is specific to Jersey City, New York City, and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88,564 to $170,913.
