Position Summary

US Clients Industries & Insights leads the way in providing industry expertise and insights to our clients. Through integrated sector go to market strategies and dedicated resources we support client teams by building and enhancing CXO relationships, developing industry content and insights, facilitating cross-Businesses strategic initiatives, and increasing talent and competency levels. We make industry matter for the Deloitte US Firm and our clients.

The Life Sciences & Health Care (LSHC) Sector Specialist role is focused on driving growth in the sector by supporting the National Sector Leader and Business Sector Leaders in maximizing the impact of the integrated growth strategy. In this role you will collaborate with sector leadership to:

  • Steer strategy and enhance business structure
  • Optimize our Client Portfolio (Advantaged Client Portfolio (ACP) and Emerging Client Portfolio)
  • Develop insights and solutions
  • Build an external market presence
  • Lead and develop talent driving purpose and inclusion

Work you’ll do

In collaboration with the sector leadership team and with the support of a market insights analyst, the responsibilities of Life Science Health Care (LSHC) Sector Specialist includes:


  • Drive project management and development of the integrated sector strategy and relevant industry shared agenda elements
  • Enable the integrated sector leadership team and the management processes that bring together the sector teams to execute a unified strategy
  • Evolve/enhance the sector structure to enable the integrated strategies
  • Support execution of the integrated strategy in collaboration with BSLs and go to market leaders
  • Partner with National Sector Leader (NSL) in executing role and serving as an extension of the NSL


  • Lead an integrated portfolio management approach to optimize the client portfolio (segmentation, resourcing, investments, profitability, and performance)
  • Drive integrated pipeline management across the sector
  • Support cross-pollination of success between account teams, elevating best practice programming etc.
  • Support for strategic pursuits and accounts to ensure industry differentiation
  • Support NSL/LCSPs in driving annual Client Relationship Assessment (participate in CRA conversations with clients, document feedback, and work to deliver feedback to the team and support team in building Relationship development plans based on feedback received)
  • Capitalize on strategic cross-sector convergence opportunities by enabling sector expertise and solutions at priority clients outside the sector


  • Deliver sector expertise around key trends and forces in collaboration with the Center for Health Solutions to shape the insights agenda
  • Enable integrated sector focused solutions that address key sector signature issues/growth drivers
  • Drive development of sector eminence activities and enables the ‘last mile of deployment’ for thought leadership and eminence activities
  • Build sector and personal eminence by participating in select client executive events and conferences
  • Monitor marketplace developments, identify, and distribute relevant sector offering content and intellectual property to client teams
  • Serve as sector liaison with cross-Business and sector offerings
  • Coordinate with DTTL to drive and manage global-related initiatives


  • Support sector leadership team’s external strategy through the development of content and presentation
  • Create and maintain an external market presence through strategic relationships across the sector ecosystem (industry associations, alliance partnerships, analysts, clients and other industry influencers)
  • Deliver industry content to client executives at sector portfolio accounts, through active participation on pursuits, involvement in NSL’s executive meetings, and active leadership at Deloitte sponsored client events
  • Develop personal eminence brand in the market, shaping/defining industry trends
  • Lead enabling areas, to develop and prepare materials needed for sector eminence activities and client executive discussions
  • Teams with the NSLs to develop relevant content and presentations (internal/external), manages teams, and monitors and reports on progress


  • Build the sector talent community through cross-business communities (i.e., community building, industry forums, industry learning, cross-business networking)
  • Enable collaboration and teaming of the industry enabling teams (cross-business, marketing, PR, learning, KX, CAM, CRE)
  • Champion inclusive behaviors and support the DEI strategy
  • Support Industry Learning and Development lead to identify sector training needs, build and deliver learning programs
  • Identify and support future client leaders. Partner with Client Excellence leader to manage the succession process, ensuring effective due diligence and tracking in firm systems. Guide leadership in maintaining a DEI perspective.
  • Project manage the LCSP/GLCSP performance management process. Coordinate and collaborate with leadership and CDAs to assess performance, capture and document feedback and manage the distribution of Elevate levers across the portfolio.
  • Develop industry communications for sector practitioners, monitor media/press for relevant sector and industry data and events

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Ability to travel 5-10% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $115,030.00-$211,850.00.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
